Cypress With Moss

Thank you, Deb for your encouragement to share on this blog and welcome to Elizabeth too.

Julia Graber finished her “Cypress With Moss” quilt last week.

She cut out the pieces from cotton fabric and fused them onto a cotton background. It measures 16”X20” and is heavily machine quilted.

She really likes the artwork of Robin Whitfield and took a beginners watercolor class with her.

Robin gave her permission to translate her work into fiber art. So, from her watercolor painting “old cypress with spanish moss / Sky Lake WMA - Swiftown / September” on the right, Julia made this fiber art piece on the left that she calls “Cypress With Moss.”

She used “fast finished triangles” on the back so it is ready for mounting.

Label on the back.

Julia - I really like the way we can see your beautiful machine quilting in your photo of the back and label.

Yes,we are able to see how your quilting lines echo the hanging moss.
